Participatory Health-care System
This project's aim is to provide a solution to problems faced in hospitals mainly avoidable mortality. This is done by performing Situation Recognition and Patient Prioritization through the use of Artificial Intelligence, Biomedical Sensors and wireless sensor networks.
Bio-medical Sensors
The wireless sensor network uses an Adruino E-Health care kit which consists of Bio Medical sensors that are able to measure a patient's physiological parameters. These parameters are sent wirelessly to Alix Boards which act as gate ways .The Data is then forwarded to a Database.
Situation Recognition and Patient prioritization
Situation recognition involves evaluating a patient's medical condition and determine his or her state. Patient Prioritization is sorting patients and giving first preferance to those who are progressively worsening or are in the most bad state.
Artificial Intelligence
This is the intelligence exhibited by machines or software. It is an academic field of study which studies the goal of creating intelligence, whether in emulating human-like intelligence or not.
Wireless Sensors Network
It consists of spatially distributed autonomous sensors to monitor physical or environmental conditions, such as temperature, sound, pressure, etc. and to cooperatively pass their data through the network to a main location.
Database and Server
The Database stores Time Stamped Patient Physiological parameter readings as they arrive from the wireless sensor network. The Artificial Intelligent algorithms access this data and then perform Situation Recognition and Patient Prioritization.
