Project: SMS NOTIFICATION VIA BLUETOOTH

Supervisored: Dr WD Tucker

Abstract

Using the Kiara Application Programming Interface, the idea here would be to give a Kiara account holder an update to their mobile phone whenever they receive an instant message in their account. This can be done by developing a phone application that uses Bluetooth and making the phone vibrate whenever there is a new instant message, this is because Bluetooth does not cost the intended user anything (it is free) but it has the limitation of distance. In addition a message would be sent to the mobile phone, to show the sender, time of email arrival and perhaps the email header or subject.
